Antioxidants can help you recover from exercising?

Sorry for not blogging these past few days, I've been busy with a few other things. Hopefully it won't happen again. I will try my best to stay on top of this because this information is important stuff and I don't want anyone missing out.

I found an article today about another benefit of antioxidants. It was written by Michael Geary and I found it on goarticles.com. I'll only post part of it tonight though, you can go to goarticles.com to read the rest or just wait until tomorrow when I post the next half. Here it is:

Antioxidants Improve Recovery from Exercise and Build a Better Body! by Michael Geary

I'm sure by now you've heard all about the amazing health benefits of antioxidant rich foods in your diet. Not only do these free-radical fighting antioxidants help you look and feel younger by slowing down the aging process, but they also help to prevent cancer, heart disease, and loads of other degenerative diseases. But that's not all. Antioxidants also help you to recover better from exercise...and that means more muscle and less fat on your body in the long run!

The function that antioxidants play in aiding your recovery from exercise is the inhibition of free radicals produced during exercise. Any time you workout, free radicals are produced in the body that damage muscle tissue. Having an adequate supply of antioxidants about an hour or so before your workout can greatly reduce the muscle damage caused by free radicals, hence, improving your muscular recovery from exercise.

Some of the most potent sources of whole food antioxidants are berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, cranberries), cherries, acai fruit, various teas (green tea, white tea, black tea, and red tea - a.k.a. rooibos tea), nuts, seeds, red and black beans, purple potatoes, grapes, red wine, cinnamon, and dark chocolate or cocoa. Don't be fooled by all of the intense marketing for expensive antioxidant supplement pills...remember whole foods are always better for you (and cheaper) than a pill.

This is good valuable information to know, thanks Michael. Well written article too I must say.

Thanks for reading, check back tomorrow for the rest of the article. God bless you and your family!

Juices

Drink your antioxidants from natural fruit and vegetables juices. Either juice them yourself or make smoothies.

You can also drink some juices from the store, however, look at the labels to check what's in them.

The bottom line is that you need your antioxidants for good health. They help prevent free radicals from destroying healthy cells which can cause aging. You can eat fruits and vegetables as well as other foods for antioxidants as well if you can't drink them.

If at all possible get your antioxidants naturally from foods instead of through vitamin pills.

That's all I have for tonight. Thanks for reading and I hope you found this information helpful.

Snapple Tea

I don't know about you but I love the Snapple tea commercials! Since tea is a good source of antioxidants, it is better for you than sodas. Green tea as I said before is the best of all the teas when it comes to antioxidants. But other teas are good as well. Black teas are also good.

I'll do more research and post more information soon about teas and why they are good for you. For now though, I just wanted to post one of the Snapple tea commercials that I like. :D

Coffee

Coffee has been said to be rich in antioxidants. That's another form of antioxidants you can drink. But be careful as well, don't put too much sugar, milk, or cream in because it has also been said that milk may inhibit the absorbtion of antioxidants.

Do more research on coffee because there have been many debates on whether it's good for you or not.

I'm out of time for tonight though. I should have more information on antioxidants you can drink tomorrow. Thanks for reading though!

Tea

Did you know that some teas are a good source of antioxidants?

Green tea has been said to be the best antioxidant-rich tea. It has been said to help reduce high blood pressure, lower blood sugar, fight cancer, and lower cholesterol. I personally am not saying that but that is what I've come across in some of my research. It seems possible since it a good source of antioxidants.

Drinking green tea can give your body some good antioxidants, so if you haven't had enough fruits and vegetables throughout the day, drink a glass of green tea at dinner. I'm not saying that green tea even remotely replaces fruits and vegetables, but it is another good source of antioxidants that you may like to try.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Juice some fruits and veggies

It's hard to get your recommended amount of 5 to 9 fruits and vegetables a day. Especially for those of us with busy schedules and always on the go!

But we really do need to get our fruits and veggies, because many are rich in antioxidants, which we all know by now are helpful to our body and overall health.

One way to get them into your body if you can't eat them is by juicing them. Although nothing can replace actually chewing and swallowing a fruit or vegetable, second best is probably by juicing or blending.

Make a smoothie for breakfast with lots of berries mixed in (most berries are the richest in antioxidants), or find a vegetable juice to go with a midday meal or as a snack if you can't juice the veggies yourself.

Try a few things and various combinations till you come up with juices and smoothies that you enjoy. It's pretty easy to do, and you can get your antioxidants! :)

Do you drink your antioxidants?

We all know that antioxidants are one of the greatest things you can do for you health, but it really doesn't matter how you get them, other than that you get them!

You can eat them, you can swallow them in pill form, or you can drink them. The only thing I can say about taking them in drink form is this:

Most of them can be poured into juices, or shakes.

Many of them taste great.

You can get a great amount of your antioxidants in orange juice, cranberry juice, or other natural fruit juices. Make sure you don't get a juice that is so high in sugar that you're counteractive to your efforts to get healthier.
